Engineering student ‘ends’ life

HYDERABAD: A day after being reprimanded by the principal having been caught copying in the exam hall, an engineering student ended his life by hanging in his house at Champapet on Friday.

Sai Sagar, 19, a second year B.Tech. student of Aurora Engineering College at Bandlaguda, was caught by the invigilators on charge of copying in the exam hall on Thursday.

The college principal summoned his father Maruthi, a bank employee, and counselled the student not to resort to such malpractice again, the Saroornagar SI, Mohammed Khan, said.

After a stern warning that he would be debarred from the college if caught copying again, the principal sent away the student.

Kumar returned to his house in Green Park colony of Champapet. He did not eat food in the night and speak to his family members confining to his study room on the first floor. His mother Asha went upstairs in the morning as he did not come out till 10 a.m. She broke the window panes to peep inside and found her son hanging to the ceiling fan with the bed sheet tied around his neck.
