Mexico raises swine flu death toll to 42
Mexico has raised its swine flu death toll from 29 to 42, Health Minister Jose Angel Cordova said.
The number of patients with confirmed infections rose from 913 to 1,070, Cordova added.
The death toll rose from the 29 given on Tuesday, following results from tests on a number of suspected flu fatalities.
"The highest peaks were on April 25 and 26, when there were seven deaths," Cordova said.
There were three H1N1 deaths recorded on May 1 and two on May 3.
"Twenty-four of the deaths were women, and 18 deaths were men," Cordova said.
More than half the victims had been between 20 and 39 years old, Cordova added.
