For those who know the inner workings of the local government, his name doesn’t come as a surprise. Hon. Ogundeji has spent close to two decades building his political journey from the grassroots, earning experience across different levels of the council.
He first made his mark between 2006 and 2007 as Special Assistant to the Chairman on Labour Matters, where he played a key role in managing relationships between workers and the leadership, while also advocating for improved staff welfare.
In 2010, he stepped further into governance as a Caretaker Member of the local government, gaining deeper insight into the challenges and responsibilities that come with running the council.
Years later, he returned as Secretary to the Local Government from 2020 to 2021, a position that placed him at the center of policy coordination and administrative management. Since 2021, he has served as Vice Chairman, strengthening his experience and visibility within the system.
In Ward 04, his political base, many party members and community leaders believe his steady rise through these roles has prepared him for the next step. They often point to his familiarity with the system and his ability to connect with people at the grassroots.
According to a community voice in the area, “He has grown within the system and understands how things work. That kind of experience matters.”
