Governor Seyi Makinde, the Presidential Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), has unveiled a bold vision for Nigeria’s future, declaring that the country must be reset through courageous leadership, accountability, and an unwavering commitment to national development.
Speaking on his plans for 2027, Makinde emphasized that the safety and security of Nigerians would be a top priority under his administration, pledging far-reaching reforms to strengthen the nation’s security architecture and restore public confidence.
“Nigeria must be reset. This will require courage, accountability, and a genuine passion for our country,” Makinde said. “The reform of our national security architecture is not negotiable. The security of Nigerians will never be treated as a political slogan. We will implement practical and effective solutions.”
The APM standard-bearer also promised a comprehensive restructuring of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), stressing that Nigerians deserve to benefit fully from the nation’s vast oil resources.
“As an oil-producing nation, Nigeria must work for Nigerians. We will reform the NNPCL and make the necessary decisions to ensure transparency, efficiency, and value for our people,” he stated.
On infrastructure and economic development, Makinde pledged to replicate and expand the transportation model successfully implemented in Oyo State across the country. According to him, an efficient transport network will reduce the cost of moving goods and people, stimulate commerce, and support economic growth.
Addressing the challenge of food security, the governor outlined plans to improve agro-logistics, modernize storage facilities, and reduce post-harvest losses, creating a system that supports farmers while ensuring affordable food for citizens.
“We will confront food insecurity head-on. By fixing agro-logistics and storage systems, we can empower our farmers, reduce waste, and guarantee food availability for all Nigerians,” he said.
Makinde maintained that his agenda is built on proven results rather than empty promises, pointing to his achievements in Oyo State as evidence of what focused and responsible leadership can accomplish.
He called on Nigerians to embrace a new vision for the country, describing the 2027 general election as a defining opportunity to choose competence, courage, accountability, and a government committed to delivering real progress.
“The time has come to reset Nigeria. Together, we can build a nation that works for everyone and unlock the greatness that lies ahead,” he concluded.
