2027: Olatunji, Ajadi Take APM Grassroots Campaign to the Wards

The Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government and APM candidate for Oluyole Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, alongside the party’s Oyo Central Senatorial candidate, Amb. Olufemi Ajadi, have kicked off an extensive ward-to-ward tour across the ten wards of the local government.

The grassroots engagement, which commenced in Ward 7, combined political consultations with developmental inspections, including a visit to the ongoing Taska–Olugbemi Road project, a key infrastructure initiative aimed at improving transportation and boosting economic activities within the area.

Speaking at the Ward 7 meeting held at Olomi Community Primary School, Olatunji described the exercise as a thank-you tour to appreciate residents, party faithful, and stakeholders for their unwavering support and commitment to the growth of Oluyole Local Government.

According to him, the tour will also provide an opportunity to interact directly with the people, assess ongoing projects, identify community needs, and strengthen the bond between leaders and the grassroots ahead of the 2027 elections.

Explaining why the tour began in Ward 7, Olatunji said it was a symbolic decision as the ward remains his political home.

“Charity begins at home. Ward 7 is my home ward, and it is only right that we start this journey of appreciation and accountability from here. Our people deserve leaders who remain connected to them and committed to their welfare,” he stated.

Also addressing party members, Amb. Olufemi Ajadi emphasized that grassroots engagement remains the foundation of effective leadership and people-oriented governance. He noted that leaders can only truly understand the needs of the people through constant interaction and consultation.

Ajadi further likened the initiative to Governor Seyi Makinde’s pre-budget consultations across Oyo State, which enabled government policies and projects to reflect the genuine needs of the people.

Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded on the Taska–Olugbemi Road project and assured residents that efforts would continue to address other infrastructural challenges within the local government.

The event attracted prominent party leaders and stakeholders, including the Commissioner for Works, Hon. Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola; former Oluyole LG Chairman, Hon. Olaide Settle; Alhaji Mukaila Adegbola; former House of Assembly member, Hon. Lukman Salawu; former Council Chairman, Hon. Kehinde Abore; Special Assistant to the Governor on Oluyole Federal Constituency, Hon. Olumide Okelawa; Hon. Akin Ajao, ward chairmen, councillors, and other party stakeholders.

The tour is expected to continue across the remaining wards in the coming days as APM intensifies consultations and grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 electoral season.
