Telugu superstar — Chiranjeevi — has unveiled his political party — Praja Rajyam (People’s Party) — its policies and programmes at a public meeting in the temple town of Tirupathi on Tuesday (August 26). The ‘mega show’ has drawn a crowd of over 10 lakh people pouring in from every nook and corner of the state at the sprawling — Avilala Cheruvu — the venue on the outskirts of Tirupati. However, it was a herculean task for the authorities to manage the crowd and maintain order due to the huge fan following, which the Telugu superstar commands, creating a chaos at the venue. The crowd went berserk to have a glimpse of their superstar. If the crowd gathering is anything to go by, it looks like that the superstar is all set to become a force to reckon with in the political arena.
The superstar arrived with much fanfare amidst cheers and greetings from the colossal crowd in a copter. He was given a red carpet welcome befitting a star. Addressing the huge gathering, he said that he is overwhelmed by the sea of support,” and further said, “I know what the people of Andhra want. Youth power is my power and will help me win. It is my duty to pay respects to the people of the state and I am hungry to serve the people.”
Ecstatic at the huge support that his presence evoked, Chiranjeevi also said that he considers the love and support of the people as a huge encouragement to his venture into the political arena.
Addressing the huge gathering he further said that his inspiration to launch a political party has come from former president of India APJ Abdul Kalam. Further in his speech, he said, “The state does not lack intellectuals, but there is no proper channel to guide them. Today’s political parties are involved in blame game activities. The aim of our party is that there should be equal ooportunites to all, upliftment of youth and women, development of industries.”
Chiranjeevi added, “When the time was right for me, I attached myself with blood bank activities and other charitable works. Now, it is the time for me to plunge into politics and take the responsibility. This inspiration has come for me after seeing you and also your strength.”
Chiranjeevi was confident that he could take the party to greater heights, and that there was no looking back when he ultimately decided to take the responsibility.
On this occasion Chiranjeevi also paid respects to great leaders like Mother Teresa and Jyoti Phule. He was a bundle of happiness when he said the party is launched on the same day when Mother Teresa was born.
Chiranjeevi wants to dedicate the party to the people of the state. He said that the blessings of the poeple were needed to make the party successful.
