Mukesh Ambani owned Reliance Retail Limited[RRL] has now ventured into “jems” and “jewellery trade” with a aim of launching 300 stores all over india during 3 years time frame. This step was taken because of the never ending demand of jewels.

The first store is launched in banglore - Jaya nagar with 6000 sqft area and 10,000 designs to select with the next stores to be opening in hyderabad and ludhiana based on the results of these three results reliance relail limited would plan out on continuing into this business or not.

The total business ratio’s says that after food and apparel , jewellery is the next biggest industry and has got a very large scope and the competition is much lower compared to the other two which is the reason they felt a very good oppurtunity to be grabbed, RRL plans to overtake Tata’s Tanishq by 2010.

The gold jewellery range encompasses Kolkata Filigree, Rajkot minakari jewellery, Kundan from Jaipur, Temple jewellery from Kerala, Jadau from Amritsar and much more.
