Geetha Govindam




Hon'ble Minister Sri Jana Reddy distributed Bhagavath Geetha Books and Sri Vari Prasadams to the prisoners of Cherlapalli Jail and later addressed the prisoners as part of Geetha Govidam on Oct 27,2008.


To become a perfect human being and inculcate good habits, values is possible by reading Bhagavad-Gita Gita told Sri K.Jana Reddy, Hon’ble Minister for Home, Govt of A.P. speaking on this occasion of Gita Govindam organized by TTD and Jail Dept. at Cherlapalli central Jail, he asked the prisoners to avoid frustration, anger and ego so as to lead a peaceful life in the society. He congratulated the TTD for organizing such a good programme. Later he distributed Sri Vari Laddu Prasadam as well as Bhagavad-Gita Gita books.

Sri J.Rathnakar Rao, Minister for Endowments said that through reading Gita, one can respect our Indian culture, traditions and values. Sri D.K.Audikesavulu, Chairman said that TTDs main aim of this Gita Govindam is to change the negative attitude of the prisoners into positive way so as to realize they themselves the value of life in the society and how one should be useful to the family, society and the nation. He said that after release from prison, everyone can have the dharshan of the lord at Tirumala. He prayed the lord to shower his blessings on the prisoners. He also wished Diwali greetings to prisoners.

TTD Executive Officer Sri K.V.Ramanachary, D.G (Jails) Sri Lokendra Sarma, TTDs C.V&S.O Sri B.V.Ramana Kumar, TTD Board Member Sri Kale Yadaiah, Jail officials and TTD Officials have participated. The local artists have enthralled the prisoners with annamacharya sankeerthanas.

Similarly in the fourteen jails like Hyderabad , Warangal , Rajamundary, Kadapa, Vizag, Nellore , Ananthapur, Khammam, Nizamabad and Adilabad the TTD in coordination with the concerned jails officials have distributed Sri Vari Laddu Prasadam as well as Bhagavad Gita books to the prisoners.
