AP Handicrafts Corporation achieves turnover of Rs.51 cr. in 2007-08
Business target for the current fiscal fixed at Rs.62 crore

Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation opened its ‘Lepakshi’ emporium in the massive ‘Srinivasam’ complex having over 600 rooms in the heart of the city on Thursday.This is in addition to the ones at the pilgrim-choked Tirumala hills and Tirupati downhill near Govindarajaswamy temple.The corporation sees a great demand for its products and artefacts in view of the rise in the number of visitors to the temple city.APHDC Managing Director V.Venkatramaiah told mediapersons that the corporation had achieved a turnover of Rs.51 crore in 2007-08.

The business target for the current fiscal was fixed at Rs.62 crore, while the conduct of handicrafts exhibitions had fetched an income of Rs.17 crore to the corporation. Breaking from its conservative mould, the corporation had decided to procure 100 metric tonnes of red sanders from the forest department for manufacture of export products.The showroom was formally declared open by the TTD’s Chief Engineer V.S.B Koteswara Rao. APHDC Manager K.Venkateswara Rao was also present.
