Plea to name train after Annamayya
An appeal has been made to the TTD to use its good offices with the Railway Minister Lalu Prasad to get one of the Tirupati-bound trains named after the saint poet Annamayya.G. Ramaiah Pillai, an advocate and former member of the Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee appealed the same in a letter to the TTD Trust Board Chairman, B. Karunakar Reddy.He said naming a train after the saint poet would be a befitting tribute the TTD would be paying to Annamayya on the eve of his 600th birth anniversary.Pillai also suggested that the kritis of Annamacharya be played on board the Tirupati-bound trains through built-in broadcasting system.
