Royal Challengers Bangalore upset Chennai Super Kings

The Royal Challengers Bangalore registered a much-needed victory over the Chennai Super Kings at Durban to move to the 4th spot in the IPL Points Table. It was a closely fought match, but Royal Challengers had the last tough. They won the match by 2 wickets with just 2 balls to spare. Ross Taylor and Virat Kohli were the stars for Royal Challengers. Chennai Super Kings won the toss and elected to bat first. Matthew Hayden continued his superb batting form and made 60 off 38 balls with 5 boundaries and 3 sixes. However, none other batsmen clicked and Chennai Super Kings managed to reach 129 in 19.4 overs. For Royal Challengers, Anil Kumble, Vinay Kumar and Jacques Kallis took 2 wickets each.

Chasing a victory target of 130, Royal Challengers Bangalore lost the first three wickets cheaply. However, Ross Taylor and Virat Kohli batted superbly to make the battle even. Taylor made 46, while Kohli made 38. Towards the end, Praveen Kumar and Vinay Kumar contributed an unbeaten 12 and 6 respectively to see their team through.

Royal Challengers reached 132/8 in 19.4 overs. For Chennai Super Kings, Albie Morkel and Jacob Oram took 2 wickets each. Matthew Hayden won the "DLF Maximum Sixes Award". Ross Taylor was declared "Man of the Match". With this win, Royal Challengers kept their semi-finals hopes alive.
