Jacob Zuma sworn in as South African President; vows Reconciliation

24/7 News Network: Jacob Zuma has been sworn in as the President of South Africa today. He took the oath in front of a gathering of 5,000 guests and several thousands of supporters. Heavy rain failed to deter the crown from attending Zuma's swearing-in ceremony at the Union Buildings in Pretoria. Zuma vowed to defend the democracy and reunite the country.
Jacob Zuma is seen as the right candidate to carry Nelson Mandela's legacy in South Africa through his policy of reconciliation. "I commit myself with dedication, commitment, discipline, integrity, hard work and passion", said Zuma.
