“PADMAVATHI PARINAYOTSAVAM” off to a grand start

TIRUMALA: The three-day annual ‘Padmavathi Parinayotsavam’ began on Sunday on a impressive note at Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala.

The processional deities of Lord Malayappa Swamy and goddess Padmavathi were taken around in a grand procession to the venue- ‘Narayanagiri gardens’ where special rituals were conducted by the temple priests.

Thousands of devotees participated in the colourful festival that lasted till late in the evening.

Decked up

Narayanagiri gardens were specially spruced up befitting the occasion. Huge cutouts made of lights, which depicted various images of Lord Maha Vishnu, were set up on the premises adding colour to the festival.

The TTD’s Dharma Prachara Parishad and Annamacharya Project jointly organised musical concerts and cultural programmes for the devotees on the occasion.

“BALA BHAJA GOVINDAM” programme held

The aim behind organising the Bala Bhaja Govindam programme is to bring back ‘bhajan’ culture and moral values in the society.

Participating in the ‘Bala Bhaja Govindam’ programme organised at the TTD’ss Asthana Mandapam at Tirumala, TTD Executive officer K.V. Ramanachary advised the children to learn respecting elders, serve the needy and lead a disciplined life in the service of the god.

The programme was jointly conducted by the TTD and the Visakhapatnam-based Bhagavathulu Charitable Trust. TTD’s Special officer A.V. Dharma Reddy and the Chief Vigilance and Security Officer P.V.S. Ramakrishna also spoke.
