WHO confirmed 787 cases of swine flu in humans

Geneva (AP): The World Health Organization has raised its tally of confirmed human cases of swine flu to 787 on Sunday.

There have been 20 confirmed deaths, 19 in Mexico and one in the United States.

The global body says 17 countries have now reported laboratory confirmed cases - a total that lags behind what national health agencies are reporting.

WHO says Mexico has reported 506 cases and 19 deaths while the United States has 160 cases and 1 death and Canada has 70 cases.

Spain has reported 20 confirmed cases, Britain has 16 cases and Germany eight - all higher totals than WHO has complied yet.

WHO also confirmed the virus has reached a swine herd in Alberta, which was likely infected by a farm worker who returned from Mexico.
